Sony on song with green
Sony is combining its passion for music and entertainment with its passion for being green to make a perfect match-up of a greener lifestyle through music and entertainment.
It’s little wonder that Sony plays an integral part in Eco Music Challenge 2012, coming on as its main sponsor with a host of great Sony prizes to be won in the competition.
But more than just that, Sony is also a strong advocate for green practices in everything that it does, through its products and business activities.
Sony is green all over
Among the many green initiatives taken by Sony Group of Companies in Singapore are:
- Replacing over 1,900 tubes of fluorescent lights in its facility with energy-saving LED lights, thus saving up to 200 tons of CO2 emission annually.
- Optimizing office space by 15% and reducing energy wastage on lighting and air-conditioning.
- Shredding waste cardboard cartons into spongy strips to be re-used as choking materials for packaging which helps to cut down on waste generation and reduce the use of new materials like Styrofoam.
What’s more, Sony also aims to build a sustainable future for everyone through its
“Road To Zero” global environmental plan which strives to achieve a zero environmental footprint. Essentially, this means doing more with less with eco-driven objectives. Now that’s certainly music to every green ear!
