Nathan's Songwriting Tips

It’s important to be upbeat and stay positive about song writing, especially good song writing. It’s a balance of discipline and pure luck.

Work ethics of song writing would entail you to write as much as you can. It’s good to follow a schedule to instil discipline. Keep a recording device, notebook or music instrument close-by to capture that magical moment. Work hard at the song for the first attempt till you are reasonably happy to allow you to have a decent first draft.

Inspiration can and will strike at any time. You should not stop looking for things and searching in other people’s lives. Even during writer’s block, you could look at other art mediums such as books, films, art, etc for inspiration.
